Welcome to our new blog series, where Bill and Jenni MacDonald take you on a weekly journey to discover the hidden gems of South Glengarry in Eastern Ontario. Over the course of 21 weeks, we’ll share our favourite attractions and activities in the area, all based on our personal experiences. Are you ready to HURRY HARD? If you’ve never tried curling, now’s a perfect time! Combining friendship, exercise, and socializing, curling is a fantastic sport for players of all ages.

The Lancaster and District Curling Club offers an 8-week “Learn to Curl” program for adults looking to give it a try. For only $100, the club provides all the necessary equipment. Plus, if you decide to become a member after completing the program, your initial $100 fee will be deducted from your membership dues!

If you’re hesitant about the sliding delivery you see on TV, don’t worry – you can use a curling stick to deliver your stones instead.

The club also offers a Junior program and has been a staple in the community since 1963. With numerous leagues and bonspiels, you’ll enjoy an active winter season from October to May.

Looking for a venue for your next event? The club’s second-floor hall is available for rentals, complete with a full kitchen, tables and chairs, and a licensed bar. It can accommodate up to 116 people, and if you want to add some excitement to your gathering, consider renting the ice and equipment for a private bonspiel!
